FAQ
Everything you need to know about buying art on this site. Still have questions? Get in touch.
How does buying work?+
Browse the catalog, find a piece you like, and make an offer. The seller can accept, counter, or decline. If your offer is accepted, you’ll have 24 hours to pay via Stripe Checkout. Once paid, the seller ships it to you.
Do I need an account?+
No. Your browser generates an anonymous session ID stored in localStorage. That’s the only thing linking you to your offers — no sign-ups, no passwords, no profiles.
How do offers work?+
You name your price on any available artwork. The seller reviews it and can accept, counter with a different price, or decline. You can accept or counter back. It’s a simple back-and-forth on price only — no chat.
What happens after my offer is accepted?+
The artwork is reserved for you for 24 hours. You’ll receive a payment link via email and can also pay from the thread page. If you don’t pay within 24 hours, the reservation expires and the artwork becomes available again.
How do I track my offers?+
Go to My Offers to see all your active and past negotiations. This works because your browser remembers your anonymous session. If you switch browsers or devices, you won’t see offers from the other session.
What if I clear my browser data?+
Your anonymous session ID lives in localStorage. If you clear it, you lose the link to your offers. There’s no way to recover it since there’s no account to sign back into. Your existing offer threads still exist, but you won’t be able to access them.
How is payment handled?+
All payments go through Stripe Checkout. You pay Stripe directly — we never see or store your card details. You’ll get a confirmation email once payment is complete.
How does shipping work?+
After your offer is accepted, you’ll choose a shipping method before paying. We show live rates from multiple carriers including FedEx, DPD, and Hermes (UK domestic), calculated based on your destination country and the artwork’s dimensions and weight. You pick the option that suits you — from economy to express — and the shipping cost is added to your total at checkout. Once paid, the seller creates a shipping label and sends the artwork to the address you provide during Stripe Checkout.
What shipping carriers do you use?+
We use FedEx for international shipping (available worldwide with real-time delivery estimates) and DPD UK and Hermes UK (Evri) for UK domestic deliveries. The carriers and services available depend on your destination — you’ll see all options with prices and estimated delivery times when you choose your shipping method.
How long does delivery take?+
Delivery times depend on the carrier and service you choose. For UK domestic: 1–3 days. For Europe: 2–6 days. For the US, Canada, and rest of world: 3–11 days. These are business day estimates provided by the carriers. Express options are available for most destinations.
Is my artwork insured during shipping?+
Yes. Every shipment is automatically insured. The artwork is insured at 133% of the agreed sale price to cover the carrier’s deductible, and the insurance premium (roughly 2% of the artwork price) is included in your checkout total. If your artwork arrives damaged, contact us immediately.
What is the Graveyard?+
The Graveyard is where sold artworks go. Think of it as an archive — you can browse everything that’s already found a home.
What data do you collect?+
As little as possible. No analytics, no trackers, no cookies. Just an anonymous session ID in your browser and your email if you make an offer. Read the full details on our Privacy Policy page.
Can I return or get a refund on an artwork?+
All sales are final. Because each piece is a unique original, we can’t accept returns. If your artwork arrives damaged, contact us immediately — every shipment is insured and we’ll work with the carrier to resolve it.
