Privacy Policy
souls.forsale (“we”, “the site”) is a single-seller artwork marketplace. We built this platform with privacy as a core principle — no accounts, no trackers, no analytics. This policy explains the minimal data we handle and why.
What we collect+
Anonymous session ID
When you first visit, a random identifier is generated and stored in your browser's localStorage. This is never sent to any third party. It exists solely to link you to your offer threads. Clear your browser data and it's gone.
Email address
If you make an offer, we ask for your email so we can notify you about offer updates (accepted, countered, declined) and send payment links. We do not use your email for marketing or share it with anyone.
Shipping address
Collected only when a purchase is completed, solely to ship your artwork. Stored in our system until the order is fulfilled.
Offer & negotiation data
The amounts, timestamps, and status of your offers are stored to operate the negotiation flow. This data is associated with your anonymous session ID, not a personal account.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, your message, selected topic, and optional rating are collected. If you opt in to being contacted, your name and email are also collected. Submissions are stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to us. The form is anonymous by default.
What we don’t collect+
No analytics. No tracking cookies. No tracking pixels. No fingerprinting. No third-party scripts watching what you do. We don't know who you are unless you tell us.
Third-party services+
Stripe
Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay, you interact directly with Stripe's checkout. We never see or store your card details.
Resend
Transactional emails (offer notifications, payment confirmations) are sent via Resend. Only your email address and the message content are shared with them.
Shippo
Shipping rates are calculated via Shippo (GoShippo). When you select a destination country, that country code and parcel dimensions are sent to Shippo to fetch rate estimates. No personal information (name, address, email) is shared with Shippo at this stage.
Google Sheets (contact form)
Contact form submissions are stored in a private Google Sheet via the Google Sheets API. Only the data you provide (message, topic, rating, and optionally name/email) is written. This is a separate sheet from the artwork catalog and is not publicly accessible.
Vercel & Upstash
The site is hosted on Vercel. Negotiation threads are stored in Upstash Redis. Both process data under their respective privacy policies. Standard server logs (IP addresses, request metadata) may be collected by these hosting providers.
Data storage & retention+
Offer threads are stored in Upstash Redis for the duration of the negotiation and are automatically deleted 90 days after the last activity. We do not maintain long-term archives of buyer data. Artwork catalog data is sourced from Google Sheets to display artworks and track availability (sold/reserved status). No buyer information is written to Google Sheets.
Your rights+
Want your data deleted? Email us and we'll wipe your threads. Since we don't have accounts, the fastest way to “reset” is simply clearing your browser's localStorage — your anonymous session is the only link to your activity.
